Check that the leaser has a land line phone number of headquarters as well a mobile phone.
If possible avoid mail order payments or money orders. The safest method is a bank transfer or Paypal.

Be wary of super deals that are way under market price as there is almost always a hidden deception.
Avoid websites that don’t specialize in rental properties and that deal with a plethora of various unrelated offers.
Make sure you can locate the property on google maps.

These simple steps are vital to make sure that you are renting with confidence and in case something goes wrong that you can always track down the person who has rented the house and ask for clarification.
